The hvac blower on my 2000 malibu works only after i smack the bottom side of the dash. It will run for 2-3 mins, then go off again. any suggsestions?

Hi Jeokee, I bought a used 2001 Chevrolet Malibu and the blower would only work on the #5 setting, so I researched options and found out I had to replace the Blower Motor Resistor for the other settings to work. It's like a electric circuit board with a plug in on the passenger side behind the glove compartment. I'm not sure if this is a solution to your problem or just a loose wire.
