Malibu engine swap
Anyone ever upgraded their Malibu 3,1 to 3.5?
The 3.5 are a bit newer with lower miles and plentiful.
Physically look the same.
Direct bolt in? Hmmmm
Thanks in advance.

Hi folks,
found what I was looking for.
Milzymotorsports.com makes the kits and parts needed to do this engine swap.
If you have an older car in grade a condition like me.
Upgrading the engine will keep it around longer.
Cheers

Hi folks,
The 3.1 to 3.5 swap is not easy peasyBig problem with upgrading an older car is finding hidden mechanical enhancements on newer engines.
My 3.5 is a 2007 with vvt sensor and assumes much of the engine performance on the newer vehicles.
It is a PWM driven solenoid. Makes thing harder to upgrade with old ECU..
I'm going to research cam and valve terrain components on the mechanical side. Or build a driver board that drives the solenoid.. clamp the maf and tps should make a good input for solenoid.
I spoke with Milzy motorsports today.
it is best to get a non vvt engine. These folks know these engines and cars quite well.
Cheers

It's not often we find exactly what we are looking for.
particularly a plane Jane old car with known problems modification alternative.
Whew. It took a bit of time to get my kit from them but patients pays.
These folks are of few mabye one or two and do not have assembly line production.
I am pleased with Milzy motorsports and will return.
Will update if anyone interested.
