Default Over heating 1997

I have a Malibu 1997 with a six cylinder engine and my compression in all of my cylinders is 90 psi but I have exhaust fumes coming out of my water reservoir and my engine keeps overheating what could be wrong?

Most likely a blown head gasket. Are you losing coolant?

It is only leaking coolant out of the resivor and there are exhaust fumes coming from it as well and there is no water in the oil

Exhaust gasses are getting into the coolant causing higher pressures and forcing the coolant out of the reservoir.
