How can you be certain which issue you have? 2001 malibu was idling in parking lot, then just died. Turning key to on position i hear no fuel pump. When key is off and turned to on position, theft system light is solid color and goes off, and sometimes is solid and stays on when all others go off. If passlock has been activated is that why i do not hear the fuel pump?

 

checking back,, crawled underneath, pounded on fuel tank, started right up! must be fuel pump.
