Havent looked but I'm pretty sure 0440 is an evap leak code so check the gas cap and any of the evap hoses you can get to other than that they are a booger to find without a smoke machine

actually had a buick century with a 3.1 come in today with a p0440, ended up being the vent valve/solenoid, it was packed full of dirt and wouldn't completely seal, just another idea for ya
