Post programming 2004 chev key fob?

I have a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Classic. What are the ways to program the key fob (or the keyless remote)?

Are you having security issues, or is this new needing programed?

I'd say take it to the dealer or a specialty shop that does those.

Close all the vehicle doors.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
Press and hold the DOOR unlock switch.
While holding the DOOR lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
Release the DOOR unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode.
Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one keyless remote. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds , the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
Repeat the previous step to program up to four transmitters.
Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (one more click forward) position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter mode.
Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation

I saved the instructions when I bought a new fob for my 04 Tahoe.

On the 2004 Chevy Malibu they did not add the ability to program your key fob without special equipment.

follow these steps
  1. Manually unlock your car door with your Chevy key.
  2. Be sure that all of the side doors are fully shut, then put the key in the ignition, but don’t start the car.
  3. Press and hold the unlock button on the driver’s side door, then turn your key to the “On” position. The interior lights and radio will come on, but the engine should not be ignited.
  4. Turn the key back to the “Off” position, then turn it to “On” and right back to “Off” once again in quick succession. (On – Off – On – Off)
  5. Release the unlock button.
  6. After releasing the unlock button, you should hear the door locks engage and disengage, telling you that the programming sequence can start.
  7. On your Chevy key fob, press and hold the “Unlock” and “Lock” buttons simultaneously until you hear the door locks engage and disengage again, indicating that you have successfully programmed your key fob.
  8. Re-insert the newly programmed key into the ignition in the “On” position to end the programming sequence.
