Anyone know how to put down the back seat of a 2004 malibu classic? When I go through the trunk it looks like this leverp (picture) is holding it in place. I try to slide that lever up but it only moves slightly, not enough to make it release the back seat. There is one on the left and right side. Any ideas?

 

Look in the owners maual, if that dosen;t help ask a dealer.

 

i think there should be straps hanging in the trunk to release the seats on the drivers side thats where they are in my 02. hope that helps.

I looked for those straps but no luck. That lever can go up but its really really difficult and tools i can use to get it up?

 

The only Malibus 1998-2004 that have the fold down seats are the LS models. The classic back seats do not fold down....they can be easily removed however

 

I forgot to repost back, I got the seat down, it was that clamp thing in my other picture that was keeping the seat up. There is one on eachside. Hope that helps anyone else who want's to get it down. It was no easy task at all getting those darn clamps to raise up!
