Default Reduced Engine Power

keep getting the reduced engine power and service traction control. When put in the computer says code for accelerator pedal. Ha e change that 3 times in the last year as well as the throttle body and new battery. Still have the same problem. This is gonna get someone killed the car just goes into limp mode and can’t do anything. Stop the car turn it off and wait a few seconds and it will go back to normal but then few miles it does it again. What else can be causing this problem other than the above mentioned which is the only codes that it will give.

Nope took to dealer several times they couldn’t figure it out or didn’t bother to fix it. They are not doing a recall either. I changed the pedal 3 times and the throttle body twice no fix. Good look I finally traded my daughters in on a new one but I can promise you it wasn’t a Malibu. Chevy dropped the ball on this one for sure. They have no answer for the problem.

Default **** malibu

Ive had the car almost 2 years it a a 2011 Chevy Malibu. March last year timing chain went and needed a whole new motor. 2600 dollars. New battery$116. Just got tires $640. This car has been expensive. I was on my lunch break today and it started shaking violently while it was idling and the check engine light came on. And I shut it off. My mechanic happened to be at my work when I was leaving of called him earlier and he thinks it's the throttle body. I owe 6800 on this car. I made a huge mistake.

Unfortunately I know your pain. The Malibu’s are a waste of time and money. My daughter almost got killed several times due to this problem. I pretty much told Chevy to take it or I’d drive through the front door. I was done trying to get answers and fixes.

Default Credit

How do I get rid of it without screwing my credit? I do not feel safe in this car. My husband says the more money we put into it it's like a brand new car. I disagree. Just means the more I owe.

My 2012 Malibu did the same thing. Gas pedal was replaced and before I got half a mile down the road it did the same. Took it back to Chevrolet and the mechanic kept it overnight and finally flashed the computer and that fixed it. That's been two years ago but now the traction control is coming on again but it has not affected the car yet, thankfully.
