Default Starting Issues

My girlfriend has a 99 malibu. it will not start in the mornings or late at night. During the middle of the day it starts fine. The check engine light is on and i checked it and it said it was a faulty IAC valve and a pin stuck on the EGR valve. I replaced the IAC valve cause i could see if it was the wrong air flow that causing it. I have changed the plugs checked the wires to see if they had a brake in them any where by misting water on them while it was running and looking for spark and did not see anything there. It seems as if something is getting moisture in it to me but i cant find what. The part that really has me baffled is that when it will not fire if i open up the hood and disconnect the spark plug wires off of coil 2-5 and go back and try to start it it will start. there is spark at that coil after it starts. shut it down hook them back up and go back and it will start up and run. i can not figure out what is going on with it. Please if anyone has any ideas of what else to look for or something to try please let me know. I have got to get this car back up and running.

thanks again
Jeremy
