Default Why is my 98 Malibu running hot??

My Malibu seems to be running on the hot side. It has the 2.4 engine in it and when I bought it it was overheating. My first thought was a thermostat so I bought a water pump and thermostat and put that in. It still ran hot. I then thought I should change the radiator cap. After that it seem to be ok. Now a year later I'm getting the same issue I thought the thermostat was stuck so I changed that and it's hot still. When I filled it with coolant I used my air lift filling tool which pressurized the system and it didn't hold the pressure for the 20 seconds at 24psi. Where should a guy go from hear? Just to note my cooling fans are kicking in about 225* and right now I'm maintaining a temp of about 230* idling at about 40* outside temp and the cooling fans are running
Thanks.

You could have a partially clogged radiator. You may need to flush the engine block.
