Chevrolet C10 Pickup 1967 - 1972
Description:

Hello, I am not sure if the OEM add on or hang on A/C complete kit was available on 1968 C10 pick up but I do see an Chevy Ad that shows one but not sure of the years allowed. I am looking to add on a truck that did not come with factory A/C. I am not interested in after market A/C such as Vintage Air or Classic Air etc. Picture I attached shows for "Chevrolet Truck" but unsure of the year and model of Chevy Ad. Thank you, Hector

Should be pretty easy to install an A/C system on a 1968 Chevy Pickup. They used R-12 Freon, so you'l have to use PAG oil 46 or 150 and R-134A. Ask me any questions as I specialized in A/C systems.

Thank you. Yes I am aware they used R-12 Freon. I am not looking to convert to R-134A, at least not yet. I am just looking for the correct OEM Chevy dealer added A/C kit to a truck that did not come with factor A/C. Do you know if the one I show in picture is correct and do you have Chevy OEM part numbers so I can search for those part numbers ? If you have actual correct OEM Chevy dealer added A/C kit, I am willing to purchase or trade. Thank you, Hector

I understand. Keep me in mind, if you need any help. I studied to become an A/C repair technician.

I prefer factory AC, but your chances of finding what you are looking for are slim to none. AC was a rare option on 68 trucks. You will most likely have to go with Vintage Air. Check with Old Air Products to see if they can help you.

Back then even four wheel drive pickups were rare. Most farmers had 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton rear wheel drive pickup trucks and no air-conditioning. Lots of them had manual transmissions, not automatic transmissions, since lots of farmers didnt like them.
Some didn't even have power-steering. At least they had a heater. No electrical roll up windows either, of course. I can remember
when GMC pickups had four headlamps and Chevy pickups had only two.
