Just bought my g/f a 2006 Monte Carlo yesterday. Today it started to do this: When starting all interior lights on dash and stereo are on (normal) then they flicker and the car shuts off. On 2nd start it doesn't do this, it starts up fine. But on 1st start when it shuts off its RESETs all programed things on stereo (time,stations ect.).

Why is it doing this and how do I fix it or get it fixed?

bad fuse or a short somewhere. Check the battery terminals. then move into your fuse boxes and look for any bad fuses and change them
