Default 1996 Lumina AirBag Code Help! Please

Getting a 96 lumina from my grandparents. It has some airbag codes and am trying to figure out what might need to be done:

Error Codes:
#26 - Driver initiator circuit open
#21 - Driver Circuit REsistance High
# Defective DERM

I'm new to airbag codes and what the common problems are. Please help if you have any input.

Thanks

Resistance high, open circuit is just that. Yes. I had to replace the clockspring in my 96 lumina due to I cut the wire from the clockspring to the airbag after several times of having to get into the steering column. I replaced it with the same GM number off ebay. All I had was an airbag light on the dash.

Not, but the air bag is the only other thing in the equation. The codes that you have point to a open circuit. Air bag circuit is only (IMO) a faulty clock spring connection OR an air bag "problem". Dealing with this in my 96 lumina , was an airbag warning, clockspring from a 96 Olds fixed it, same GM part number I got off ebay
