1998 Lumina A/C issue.
The A/C works just fine, however there's a small issue with it.
When I put the gas pedal all the way to the floor, when I'm going up a hill or an on-ramp... Basically when the engine's making power... Air stops coming through the front vents and start coming down the under-dash vents. After about a minute or so it starts going through the front vents again.
I'm guessing it has something to do with vacuum... But I'm new to these cars and honestly have no clue as to what I have to be looking for...
If anyone can point me the right way I'd appreciate it... Thanks!

I am having the same issue and from what I have read thus far, it is usually an issue with a hard plastic vacuum tube that runs from the vacuum canister (located under the battery and accessed from under the car, and looks like a black plastic ball). This plastic line runs by the battery and into the firewall and usually breaks/cracks or becomes disconnected. If it breaks/cracks, I understand that it breaks by the battery.
I have yet to check mine, but I hope this helps.

Thanks so much for sharing the info. I was able to fix my sons car.
I went in from the top. I removed the water tank for the wipers, the breather intake, and then the battery. The small diameter hose was snapped right as it cornered the battery. I taped it together for a temp fix. Now the air works great!.
