Default 2002 monte carlo 3.4

Update on this car, did some testing over the weekend, my friend says that there is no ground from the crank relay to the ecu, he also checked the ignition ,we found 12 volts on the white wire which is where its supposed to be but the black wire was reading some voltage ,i read there is supposed to be no voltage there ,before i start replacing ecus and paying to have it flashed can somone let me know if this sounds correct ,one of the members did tell me to look into the crank relay and also said its either the relay,ecu or ignition please respond asap i have a job intereview thursday and i need the car .
