Default 99 Monta Carlo Stumbles

My wifes car is driving me crazy. I have replaced the plugs, wires, Tps, and fuel filter. Ran fine for a few weeks. Now it's doing the same thing all over again. When slowing to turn it stumbles and spits. Drining at a constant rate it will stall and stumble. When sitting at an idle engine runs fine, but as you steady increase rpms it will surge at approximately 3500 to 4000. Hand scanner does not reveal any codes, but misfire on no.1 cyl. Does anyone have an idea where to start? Someone told me that it was the MAF sensor. Yes I will try that, but it's a 174.00! Help[]
