If the body of the car is in good shape, and the transmission is in working order, than it is worth it. Did the timing belt break or is it just shredded? If it broke you may have to worry about bend valves because I believe the 3.4 DOHC is an interference motor. Im sure you could probably make your 300 back with just parting out the car if it turns out the motor is no good.

well i know it has done this same thing with the timing before i think twice, it looks like when they put it together the first time they forgot to put the shim back on the stop the belt from moving arond and it is bad enough i know atleast one of the heads is off atleast two teeth... as far as i know it should all work, the guy that owned it before my friend said it would still start just pop and sputter, he also said he just stuck it in gear and it messed up... so it was at a low idle when it happened

I have a lumina z34. Bought it about 4 years ago. Best car ive ever drove. Rode smooth, and was pretty fast. It died on me yestarday. Was backin out of the driveway and the tranny went out. Engine still runs, but its not worth it to fix the tranny, so it looks like she's goin to the junk yard. But I gotta admit, it was deff worth the 700 it cost me to buy the car. Ima miss her.
