On the lumina sedan...does this car have a pvc valve? If so, where is it located? Also, does this engine have a crankshaft position sensor...if so, where is it located?

I've pulled the harmonic balancer off and didn't see the crankshaft sensor behind it.

I've ran this car for years without any problems but now it's giving me problems. When I start it up it goes into a high idle and then into a low idle (hunting?) and then dies. When I turn the key on I hear the fuel pump pressurizing the fuel system.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! I'm having to borrow my sons car to get back and forth to work and it really stinks!!!

did you ever figure out what the problem was mines doing the same thing ?

 

Was wondering if anybody knows what or how to do or fix my problem, any suggestions greatly apprc'd. I was working on tinting my windows and from the constant use of the key turning on and off and using the windows the battery went dead. Charged it up fully, i go to start the car and everything works except 1) my radio, 2) no interior lights, the dash and radio and heat controls light up also no running lights i have to pull the light switch out for headlights to come on, 3) keyless entry on key chain does not work to open/unlock doors or trunk, and 4) engine doesnt not crank. Now no wires nor motor or engine work were done to the car. Can anyone help me to get it running again Thanks jim. all fuses are good and workin. jamesfania@gmail.com
