Default Removing Power Steering Pump?

I need to replace the camshaft sensor on my '95 Lumina 3100, and to do that, I need to remove the power steering pump. I took off the engine coolant bottle and the serpentine belt with no problems. The pulley on the pump has three holes, and I just rotated it around so I could remove all 3 bolts. Now that the 3 bolts are out, I try to lift the pump from the engine, and I can't get it off. It is loose, I wan shake it around with my hand, but when I try to pull it off the moter, it feels like it's hitting on something, and that's stopping it from comong off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I didn't remove the lines, it doesn't look like they are in the way. Is that what's keeping the pump in there?

the Haynes says....
1.remove coolant recovery tank
2.remove serpentine belt
3.remove the 3 bolts by spinning the pulley to access bolts
4.remove high pressure line.
5.remove return line
6.pull out pump

keep in mind I have not done this, but its never as easy as the book says.

I'm going to try taking the lines off, and see if that makes a difference. Doesn't seem like it will, from what I see, but I am hardly an expert.

I looked at the new part at Advance Auto parts online, and the back of the pump is pretty much flat, nothing protrudes into the block. The backside looks to be a flush mount. Maybe the lines or just some crud is holding it. Keep in mind I am looking at a pump for my 95 3.4 DOHC motor.
Good Luck Let Me Know how it goes.

Well, I took the lines off, and the thing still will not come out. So I have no idea.

you just have to manuver it out i have a 99 chevy lumina, i took off my altenator which is mounted to a bracket thats kind of in the way makes it a lil easier. but if all three bolts are out then it should pull out then upward diagonally youve got to play with it.

Default Same problem on a '96 Astro van

Have the same problem. Took the 3 bolts off the pump the Haynes manual says to take out, along with a few more holding the ac compressor bracket, but there is still something keeping it from coming out. Lines are not accessible until pump drops down.
