Default 05 Chevy Tahoe

So I'm in a 05 Chevy Tahoe. I'm only the 2nd owner and I just hit 350k miles. I know the owner before me put 300k miles on it and was very good at keeping it maintained . I have done some big repairs and use this mainly for work. Mechanics tell me engine is in great shape. Question I have is the knocking noise that happens for like the first 30 minutes untill it's nice and warmed up. I take great care of it and want it to last as long as possible at this point. Anyone have this issue before? I appreciate any feed back at all.

Welcome from Florida. What is your oil pressure at start up and again when it is fully warmed up. You could try a heavier oil and see if that helps.

Thank you for the quick response! From Texas here. Oil pressure is steady the same all day. I've been told to go with a 10w30 oil to help out and just wanted to see what y'all thought. I appreciate it !

Make sure you're using the right grade and viscosity of engine oil recommended for your Tahoe. For older engines with high mileage, using slightly thicker oil can help maintain proper lubrication, especially during cold starts.

No this is wrong and will damage your engine. Always use the manufacturer recommended viscosity of oil.
ESPECIALLY for cold starts when you need to oil to start flowing and reach the heads!
