06 suburban rear coil spring area rusting through

Default 06 suburban rear coil spring area rusting through

Was replacing my fuel pump and while dropping my tank I noticed where the rear springs seat the metal is rusting through! Is this fixable ??

Here’s a pic of the area that looks like the spring will eventually break through if it bottoms out. This happening at the top of the spring and looks like there’s a hole and that whole piece is connected to the frame so I’m guessing I’m doomed?

Yeah it's done. Looks like you need a whole new spring mount welded on. I would talk to an auto body/frame shop about it.

I've seen TSB's related to failing GM spring mounts, so maybe check on that.

Interesting, I didn't know suburbans had coil suspension in the rear.
