Default 1988 Chevy k2500 lights flickering while pressing clutch need help !!

Today I was driving my 1988 Chevy pickup to work just bought it the other day runs like a top just noticed that every time I would either turn my lights on or just whenever I had to use my clutch all the Gage's would go crazy and the lights would flicker. Well for some
reason I would press the clutch in and it would not go into gear but it would start like normal if you press your clutch like it should would know how to fix this ?!?

Check the switch on the clutch. There is probably a short somewhere in that circuit.

Would that cause the truck not to go into gear at all ?

My take is wire's hanging around the clutch arm, and causing this when depressed, and no that won't cause it to not shift.
