Default 2000 Chevy Tahoe 500,000 miles

Hi I’m new here and wanted to ask. I have 413,000 miles on my 2000 Chevy Tahoe and trying to get her (Becky) to 500,000. Is that a common thing meaning many people on here have done it or is it rare, etc. I need to put a few hundred $ to fix a few things and definitely feel it’s worth it so I’m going for it. Just wondered if a ton of others have done it as well. Thanks.

think most issues with those trucks are the fuel and evap systems. i traded in my 02 1500 last year with over 250k, didnt really want to but they offered me more than i paid for it so i took them up on it. the motor had a slight tap (didnt sound deep enough to be worried about might have been exhaust or even just injector) the ac compressor was acting up and the front dif needed some work but still worked. imo if you have to put a few hundred into your truck to maybe even make it two more months thats cheaper than a new car payment.

Thats quite impressive. You must have been really good on maintenance. I'd keep doing what you are doing and she might make 500k.

Impressive. Most miles I had on any vehicle was 302,000 miles on a '92 Acclaim. Ended up parking it since the heater core was leaking. Engine was still in good running condition.

Most engines will go 500K easily if taken care of in maintained properly. The problem is the body, suspension, AC or interior falls apart or fails. I only had one vehicle that had an engine issue and that was a head gasket failure at 273K miles. The repair would have been more than the entire vehicle was worth. Or the owner simply gets tired of the vehicle and sells/trades it for something newer.
