Default 2000 silverado 4x4 transmission

As I'm driving anywhere from 40 -60 mph at a steady speed the transmision starts to chug especially if I'm going up a steady incline. It feels like it wants to downshift but it just jerks several times until I give it gas or let up on the accelerator.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

that happens because you aren't giving it enough power. make it downshift and get the rpm's up higher before switching gears.

try changing your spark plugs and spark plug wires. as you should know, pontiac and chevy are one and the same. i had a 91 firebird that did the same thing, i replace the spark plugs and wires and everything was back to normal. hope it helps
