Default 2001 Monte Carlo 3.8

I am trying to fix my father in laws 2001 Monte Carlo 3.8 When he starts the engine and then turns the vehicle off, it will not start again. Could this be an ignition issue?

Thank you.

Welcome from Florida. It could be ignition. We need more details to try and help. Does it crank over but not start? Do the gauges light up? How long does it have to sit before it will start?
