Aloha my name is Arlene I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L DOHC Ecotec and it has over 140 thousand miles on it. I'm new to this so please forgive me if I'm not doing this right. My car dies out, but will start again. Took the air filter hose off now my car won't die out. I'm wondering what affect this will have on my car if I continue to drive it without the air filter hose connected. FYI the air filter is new.

if your referring to the air intake ducting from the air filter to the throttle body....if you leave it disconnected unfiltered air will enter the engine which is bad.


you may have an idle air control valve problem or need a throttle body cleaning. hard to know without any scan tool information.
