I have a 2003 silverado, 212,000 miles. Have started having surging issues this week and engine cutting off, will not immediately start back up but within a few minutes engine will restart. Had message yesterday "Battery not charging", when engine shut off, check engine light on. Drove to work this morning (40 miles), check engine light went off, got to work and engine died three times pulling into parking lot.

Wondering if anyone has had this problem or would know where to start looking?

 

My 2003 chevy did the same thing after changing the battery. Then I drove it for about 40-50 miles and afterwards it seemed to reset itself.
