Default 2012 Chevy camaro catalytic Converter Warranty

My 2012 Camaro has a bad catalytic converter, I'm told. Car has 64,000 miles and the dealer says the warranty expired in 2017. I thought the Catalytic Converter had an extended warranty beyond that?

Appreciate the replies.

I found on EPA site info that catalytic converters are covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first. I am going back to dealer with this info.

I'm in Canada...maybe different in usa. It should be stated in the owners manual or maintenance schedule booklets.
