I'm new to this so please save the judgment. I have a 454 from a 72 Vette that I am rebuilding. I have some



heads that were donated by a friend who doesn't know what brand they are and I cannot figure it out. Looking at the pics, you can see the intake doesn't line up right. I don't know what type of intake I need that will fit, or how to identify the heads. Any help is appreciated.

Unless there are some casting marks on the heads, you will probably have to go to an engine builder and ask them if they know.

 

Thanks. I realized that after I posted here. I'm new to this. I reposted in the General Tech section shortly after. This engine is actually going in a C-10 so I wasn't really sure where to post it.

 

I had another thought later, is the manifold correct?

 

I have an Edelbrock 7561 RPM Air-Gap 2-0 Intake Manifold BB-Chevy 396-502 with oval port cylinder heads.

I am now realizing that the Heads are rectangle port. Can I buy any BBC intake with rectangle ports and it will work?

 

It's hard to tell but I would assume that would work. With the rectangular ports, these are definitely high-performance heads.
