Default 4l80e goes to neutral

91 gmc 4l80e rebuilt shifts fine until it hits 4th gear then its coasting apply gas goes into third and coasts until gas is applied then it engages Change engine from 454 to 350 Does the prom need to be changed Trans has all new electrics engine has all new electrics new rad and trans cooler engine has rv cam Baffled

It sounds like a torque converter issue. Is it shuddering at all?

new torque converter seems like when lock up occurs it goes to neutral
