5.3 low oil pressure
My oil pressure has been low for a while. I took to my garage, they changed the pressure sensor. Made a bit of a change, but not enough.
Normal pressure used to be 275 kpa at startup. As the engine got to temp, oil pressure started falling to 130 kpa... too low...
after returning to garage today, new oil pressure sensor changed again...NO DIFFERENCE.
About 2 months ago, went to lube shop to get an oil change... my garage was busy. Turns out the oil filter they installed was defective... bypass engaged, result LOW OIL PRESSURE.
Today i changed the oil filter with a new one from my garage... pressure back to normal!. Never had this problem before....will not go to discount lube shop again.
This could have cost me lots, but turns out, a new 10 dollar filter fixed my pressure problem.
