Abused 1999 Suburban -
My name is Brody, I'm from near Portland OR.
I just bought a 1999 Suburban LT 1500, 4x4, 5.7. The interior is not pretty & the paint is worse. But it's only got 127K on it and it seems real strong mechanically. Plus I got it for cheap as a 3rd car for our family. So far, I'm very pleased with it.
The paint looks like it was originally forest green, that was painted black. It looks like who ever repainted went to some effort because there are labels in the door jams that were masked off & no overspray on door seals. But then the black peeled, mostly in the clear coat, especially on the hood & roof. Then someone else tried to fix some of it with a rattle can and really made a mess.
I'm looking forward to restoring this rig back to a better looking & functioning ride.

New kid on the block
I joined the forum to seek advise dealing with a timing issue on my Suburban. I already posted the issue in that section. Needed a tow vehicle to replace my parted out crew cab and a ride that was a little warmer than my swiss cheese door equipped 84 S-10. This is the truth, I paid $1400 for the "99" Burb. with 243,000 miles and a donor Tahoe with 6" lift, 20" rims, Cowl hood, etc.
I now have bout $6000 in the Burb with new motor/trans/T-Case and parted the Tahoe out for $$.VBG Now if only I can get that timing issue squared away.
P.S. The Suburban gets better fuel mileage than the 2.8 S-10.
