Catalytic converter

Default Catalytic converter

Should I eliminate my cats due to my down stream O2 sensors are seized. I put the up streams in. Any suggestions?

First of all, it is illegal to operate a vehicle without the catalytic converter. As far as removing the down stream sensors, run the engine until at operating temperature, then shut off. Let the exhaust cool for a bit and then try removing the sensors. Heat expands and should allow the sensors to be removed. You may need to use a breaker bar to get enough torque to break them loose.

I did that no luck. Going to a muffler shop and there’re going to put bongs in the pipe. Is that a good idea?

it will work. but you have to make sure theres clearance for the sensors and the wires will reach

why don't you just let the muffler shop remove the 02's. with a torch heat them up and they will come out. drilling holes and welding in bongs will take a lot longer than removal. Never had a set I couldn't remove and I worked in the rust belt.
