Chevy Sonic P0597 issue

Chevy Sonic P0597 code. This seems to be a recurring problem with the Sonic. Sam issue, no heat and my defrosted didn't work. BIG issue tonight as,it was,storming, no defrost and I couldn't see to drive home. Called GM roadside for a tow. Will this be a ever be a recall? My car has 44,000 miles.
