Glad to be back looking
I just found out about this site...I believe that GM and Chevy left many drivers to fend for themselves in the early 80's on...I was a total Gm lover..got my first chevy as a hand me down from my dad...It was a 57 Bel-air Station Wagon that my dad had to special order from Detriot.
It had a three on the tree and it made the long trips to school and then to college..I held on to it till..my dad needed it...in 1972..My family bought Pontiac and stayed with the line till the mid 70's...By that time people in California were being squeezed by the oil daddys and had to wait in line for gas...
I have driven a vw bug since 71 and plan to hold on to it a bit further...I just saw the new HHR and think maybe just maybe the line is just what I need to drive...On long drives 700 or more miles I usually rent a car...I drove a PT and found it to be just so so...but from what I have seen of the HHR this is the kind of vehicle that can be used as a work and pleasure vehicle..Oh you may ask what are my credentials for making this statement I have had the opportunity to run several service industries using heavy trucks ...never had problems with the Chevy's
