Greetings
Hello everyone. I own a 94 Honda Prelude, 05 Toyota Camry, and a 92 Chevy Silverado. By far the Chevy Silverado is the workhorse and my pride and joy. I've had in since October 92 and it has 267K (and counting) on the odometer, with no engine leaks or any major problems. Of course it is 14 years old and has some minor cosmetic issues such as a couple of cracks on the dash and the occassional shimmer in the rear end when I exceed 80 mph.
To cut to the chase, I am in the market for a new full size truck and have been looking for the last year or so. I've test driven the F-150, Dodge Ram, and Nissan Titan. Last week I finally saw and test drove the 2007 Chevy Avalanche and boy I really love it. I'm partial to the Chevy anyway, but this new body style really impressed me. My only question for Chevy Engineers is why don't you give the customers the option of the gear shift being in the floor or on the column? That's the main thing that impressed me with the F-150 and the Nissan Titan--you can get the shifter in the floor and boy does that look and feel great.
One more question. What happened to the captain's chairs with the armrests? The 2006 Avalanche has them but they are not offered in the 2007 Avalanche. I can get used to not having an armrest, however, I really wish they would consider putting the gear shift in the floor for future Avalance models. Does anyone else feel the same as I do about the gear shift location?
