Default Have a rough time please help!!!

Hey guys I'm Mark and I drive an 09 Silverado. 2 weeks ago and 18wheeler changed lanes and smashed me into a guard rail. Needless to say the truck won't see the road again, however within the last few months I (my mechanic) installed a Brand New built Jasper motor. Also the truck has full RC suspension 20s w/33's x12.5s that we also undamaged. The question I have is can I swap it into a cat eye body style(02-06)? Or do I have to find another 07 to 2013 model? Also, does it have to be a truck? Can I swap it into a tahoe or a suburban of any of the following years. Thanks for all your support and help for the new guy.
Mark

Welcome to the forum. You will get a lot more views if you post your question in the Silverado section of the forum. The easy answer is is to check with the vendors of all the equipment to see if it's interchangeable.

Welcome! As others said, post your question to the Silverado forum, but one thing to be aware of is that the computer, anti-theft system and engine are very tied together on most GM vehicles since 2000. You will need to be sure to pull that stuff when you pull the engine from the totaled truck, as you may need the engine control module and other modules for that engine to work in any other vehicle.

About that cat eye Silverado from 2002 to 2006 – it's part of the older GMT800 platform. Now, it's not out of the question to try putting a newer GMT900 series engine into one of these older trucks, but it's gonna take some serious tinkering. You'd likely need to mess with things like the engine mounts, wiring, computer system, and maybe even the transmission and other parts to make sure everything works together right.
