Hello Chevrolet Forum!
Hello everyone. A noob here in the forums, and nice to see the Moderator is from New Jersey , my home state.
I grew up in a town called Vineland. Stayed there until 1976. Lived in EHT until 2007. Now a resident of Houston, TX. I previously owned a 2005 Impala that finally went out of service with 170000 miles on the clock. In the 7 years I owned the old girl, have experienced a myriad of problems and became some what of a professional on this year car. Now have a 2012 Impala with 19K miles. Great powerful vehicle.

OK all hey howdy hey
I have posted a few times already mostly about my troublesome 2000 Impala. She just loves to put herself into security mode. Was thinking about messing with her today but maybe not is more like it. I have already replaced the Bumper cover right fender and both headlight assembly's and the right front SS style wheel. I got the car for 400.00 bucks to prevent it from being sent to the scrap yard. I cant see a Chevy go to the scrap yard. IM just wondering why the car likes to put itself into security mode. I have already done the Bi-pass with the BCM ( black/yellow wires ) the car ran great ( besides the 4 yr old fuel in the system that is ) then when I put the radio back into the car put my dash back together etc etc she wont start back up again- I killed my battery doing the 30 min relearn on the key- I need help with this car- it is in pretty good shape just want her brought back to life.

Hello Chevy's rule.
First off bypassing the Passlock system is not good.
I will try and help you get it back to health. 2000-2005 GM's are good for losing the programming in the BCM. You need to put the system back to how you found it. If the radio is the original radio that came with the car it will work. It is also integrated into the BCM. (Vin programmed into the radio will make it work)
Charge the battery fully. Leave connected. Put the car in sunlight to shut off the auto headlights. Make sure the charger is still on and connected. Put the driver's window down as if the locks auto lock you can still get into the car.
Put the key in the ignition, turn to run and turn off. Pull the key out and re-insert. All accessories are OFF. Turn the key to run so all the lights on the dash are ON. Leave SIT for 30 minutes until the security light goes out. Shut off and remove the key. Put the key back in and start the car.
You might want to use fuel stabilizer for the 4 year old gas.
