hello all im billy and i own a 90 chevy 4x4 silverado. the owner of the truck before me carbedthe 350and added long tube headers,550 elderbrock carb, k&n aif filter and a new rebuilt rear end with 373's . i drove it for a couple months and the 350 started to knock. so now i have a rebuilt 283 that im gonna drop down in ittill i get the 350 rebuilt . i have been told that the 283is not powerful enough for the 4x4 but im not using it to pull anything huge.i thinkit will pull my turbo car to the track on a dolley and haul small loads of fire wood for the garage . and the normal trips to lowes for the wife .but i dont know that much about chevys yet so im always open to information from anyone that knows more that me .
