Help with a code on a 2001 Chevy Malibu
I have a 2001 chevy malibu and it is showing the code PO440
It is saying it could be a defective or loose fuel cap
EVAP canister or hose cracked-not connected
Purge or vent solenoid defective
Vacuum leak at engine
I don't have the money to put it in the shop at the dealership. I have replaced the gas cap so now what else can I do????

After replacing the cap did you clear the code with an OBD2 scan tool? Without erasing the code it can take hundreds of "cycles" (turning the key on and off) before it resets. Another way would be to disconnect the battery for a little while and it would reset your computer.
If you dont have access to a scan tool you could go to a local parts house like autozone or advance and they usually do it for free
