Default Hi to all from a new member

Hello everybody. Just joined your forum and wanted to introduce myself. I'm from Canada, and am 62 years old and retired. I drive two GREAT cars: 1980 Impala 4 door and 1986 Cutlass Supreme 4 door.

But both of these cars age getting old (like me, I guess) and need some major work done. So I'm debating whether to let these old ladies go (I'm getting $50 from my local junk yard for each of them) or invest some money and fix few things.

And maybe I can ask you a quick question. If I decide to go for a new car and since I'm living on a small pension, the only new cars I can afford are these 3. Please tell me which would be your choice (I must mention that I am a tall guy-6'3" so I need to "fit" in the car. Oh, my lovely Impalla, so roomy and reliable, I just love you):

1) Chevy Aveo
2) Chevy Cobalt
3) Hyundai Accent

Best regards and thanks.

I'd actually go with a Malibu if that isn't out of your price range because they are more roomy than the Aveo or Cobalt and are made for a mature adult. The only people I see driving Cobalts and Aveo's are kids in their teens

hi 92chevysilvy: Thanks for your comment. And yes, I agree with you, but I'm very much in the money squeeze right now and that's the reason for my search for the low cost econo little car.

Best regards and thanks again.

Hello up there in Canada (tallguy) and welcome to the forum! Gotta say I agree with you on the old girls. I poured money into a 90 Bonneville for some years so I know where you're coming from. Why not find a newer used Impala though. Heck, I think they make them up in your neck of the woods too. I got mine used and it sure beats climbing in and out of one of those pregnant roller skates. I'm not as tall but nearly as old and the knees protest when I get into a small car. Give it some consideration and give your old knees a rest too. Nice having you with us.

northey87 and EvansBlue: Thanks for your kind welcome.

Gwampa: You know what, you maybe 100% on the money with your suggestion to get a used Impala. No wonder all the taxis around here are Impalas. And yes they are assembled here too. Although the plant is shut down for a few weeks, I think. And to be honest, the old patriotism in me is nudging me to get something American/Canadian. Will let you know what happens.

Thanks for your support.
Best regards.
