Hi New member here, just signed up, I own a 350 engine, not in a Chevy car.

Just wondering why nothing is recommended in the way of gasket goow, between the oil pump and rear main cap? My surface very rough, not machined?

Welcome to the forum. Try posting your question in the engine building section of the forum. The other section you might check out as the Tahoe section. A lot of guys have knowledge there.
