Thumbs up Introduction from South Africa

Hi there,

I drive a 2005 Chevy Aveo 1.5 LS.

On saturday the sump plug decided to go missing on the Highway and soon after it spilled oil all over the highway (I only discovered this later of course) the engine cut out and I had hoped that the low oil cut out would have saved the engine but alas after replacing the sumpl plug as well as all the oil I discovered that the motor had siezed.

I have decided to rebuild the motor myself and seeing as the car would be worth very little after, I thought it may be worthwhile to undertake a little project, possible transplanting an Opel Ecotec 2.0 Turbo motor or simply rebuilding the current 1.5 SOHC motor with a white hot cam, have the cylinder head gas flowed, chipped, exhaust and induction kit.

Im amazed by the wealth of knowledge on this forum and hope to tap into that wealth as my project kicks off and hopefully some members can benefit from the inevitable lessons im about to learn!

Welcome to the forum. Had a similar problem many years ago with a oil filter gasket. Post your problem on the Tech or Aveo section(s) (if you haven't already) and I'll bet an answer will be forthcoming.
