Jiffy Lube Tampering?
I'm trying to give these ppl the benefit of the doubt but this seems very suspicious from my point of view. I'm seeking advice for next steps...
My wife took her 2016 Chevy trax in for simple oil change and tire rotation. Bought it off the lot originally. She's never had any problems with it and she gets it serviced on time usually. Around 65,000 miles on it today. Before they look at it they recommend new spark plugs and other engine services based on milage. (They didn't try this on me when I took it last time.) She declines of course. Everything seems to go fine and she gets it home okay. Later that day we leave for the beach in separate cars which is a few hours away. About an hour on the highway and she can feel her car starts jerking, she's lossing acceleration, and the check engine light comes on. We call OnStar and get a P0300 code and they say fine to drive for 7 days just get it looked at. We take it to the dealership next day and they say there are multiple misfires and needs new spark plugs and coil pack. My father in-law looks at them and finds the spark plugs are fine but the screws on the coil pack are so loose you could unscrew with your hands. Also, all but 1 of the coil pack springs are bent. Took it back to the dealership and they say that all they did was run diagnostics - they didn't unscrew the coil pack or take off the spark plugs.
Is this a common finding with tampering or am I way off base? I would like to know before I take it back to jiffy lube. If tampering was the cause, then that is a safety issue and they have endangered my wife.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

May be more than a coincidence but you will never prove anything. IMO it would be a waste of time to go back making accusations. Maybe time to find a reputable mechanic to do your routine servicing.
I agree with Rednucleus. You'll never be able to prove JL tampered with anything. It would be your word against theirs. Find a reputable mechanic. FWIW - I stopped using JL a long time ago. I can usually do simple services such as oil changes for a lot cheaper than they can. Especially after I drove by a JL and noticed a vehicle nose down in the bay.
just ask them if they removed the coil packs and checked the spark plugs. if they say no...end of conversation.
quick lubes...if you use them...at least once a year have a real repair shop do the tire rotation and oil change. you need yearly inspection of the brakes, steering linkages and suspension components. You can't do this on a drive thru quick lube rack that doesn't lift the tires off the ground.
