I'll take u up on that! a friend has a 2007 Equinox that wont go in ready mode for evap and egr after 1 mo and 1k miles of driving. Dealer replaced cannister for a p0442 and said just keep driving. Im a Lexus tech and never not had a car go in ready mode unless a prob still exists but it will set an mil. any help would be appreciated, thanks

i believe that there is a bulletin to do a reflash for this problem on some equinox, acadia, terrain, and enclave vehicles... get with your dealer and see if this bulletin applies to this particular vehicle. is the CEL currently lit? if so lets know what codes are there... also. make sure they are doing a complete drive cycle ( 25-30 miles with 4 idle cycles in traffic about 30 secs or more each and highway driving) on between 1/4 and 3/4 tank of gas. there are some tests that the pcm will not run if the tank is above 3/4 or below 1/4 full.. keep me up to date with how this is going. as im in a non emissions state i havent had to deal with this issue personally. i really want to know how this turns out... p0442 can be set off by many things. if there was a problem with the canister i would expect a p0445 (large evap leak)...
