Default Looking for a Colorado

Greetings everyone. Well, I've always wanted & could use a mid-size pickup truck. Mom & Dad were Chevy owners from way back. .. something like 15 automobiles owned between the two of them over the years with almost all being Chevrolets. .. did my research & decided on the Colorado. .. need a bit of help buying my 1st pre-owned vehicle. .. figured chevroletforum.com should be a great place to start. .. glad to be aboard.

Welcome from Florida. Get the maintenance records if at all possible. Don't pay the asking price, everyone has some wiggle room built into their asking price.

AutoCheck came back clean. One owner. Lease vehicle. We found the Manual & other original documentation along with the perfectly preserved window sticker in the glove box. The salesman said that's a sign of someone who really cared for the vehicle. No records on maintenance, however, with AutoCheck. But--and I may be wrong--as neat as this truck is & with it being a company vehicle (isn't that what a lease vehicle is?) I'd bet it got all the regular maintenance. Heck if I know. The salesman said it's been on the lot 63 days (although I'd better check that) & they've dropped from $19,895 to $18,895 to $18,253 b4 I arrived. I asked about a price reduction & they dropped it to $18k with the agreement to replace a broken brake caliper & thin brake pad & rotate the tires because some cupping was found. (I read online that sometimes improper tire inflation can cause cupping & that correcting the pressure & doing a tire rotation can often remedy cupping). Three of the tires were over-inflated & one was under @ 21 lb. The pre-owned dealer apparently did no vehicle inspection or @ the best a very poor one as the passenger wiper blade was damaged too. I figure maybe they just got it on a trade-in or whatever & put it on the lot. I know, that's prbly not a good practice, but as neat as the vehicle is I could see where they figured they didn't need to. I'm prbly naive as all get-out but ..

What year is this Colorado? What nis the mileage and which engine does it have? Bad shocks cause cupping not under inflation. Broken caliper and worn pads are not a good sign. They have had the truck for a long time and keep lowering the price, this is also a bad sign, Beware!

2020, which is supposed to be one of the best yrs for the Colorado. 63k on the mileage. Gas I-4, 200 hp engine. I've also done OPs titled "Better Diagnostics Than Bosch Automotive Diagnostics - ADS625" in General Tech & "Milex Pre-purchase Inspection" in Show Off Central (don't ask me why I put it there but I did). I just now asked the moderator to move that OP to General Tech if it should be.

Welcome to the forum. I'll try to move your other post. Also check the Colorado section of the forum for more views.

BTW, a lease vehicle is not necessarily a company car. It's just like renting a car for several years and the turning it in after the lease period is over. From what you said, it appears that this one was rode hard and put away wet.

It you haven't already, you should check the Blue Book value.
