Lost in Translation
Hello,
Im a Chevy lover who stumbled across a 1978 Monte Carlo here in South Africa. As a first time buyer and without extensive knowledge of these cars, im looking for tips on what i need to look out for when buying the car.
The intention is to purchase the car and then rebuild it, how available are parts for this model and how feasible is it to import them in from the US.
Any feedback that could help me be more informed would be appreciated.

Welcome and great question. Can't address your questions technically, but post some pics of the Monte and give some more data. When was car imported, mileage, engine or VIN, etc. to establish a baseline. The tech's here are tops and helpful too. Just gotta tell them what their looking at is all.
Thanks for the response.
I will find out more about the specs for the car. I know now that it is not a '78 but an '80 model. I havent seen the engine yet, but the owner says it runs pretty well. He is a collector and was using the car for his funeral services business. Here are some pictures. Have a look any feedback is welcomed.
