My 2004 Silverado 2500HD Was Leaking Power - Here’s What Worked for Me
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Robert from New York. Call me Big Bob - everyone does! I have caught the habit of introducing myself as the proud owner of a 2004 Silverado 2500HD. Man, I love this ol’ truck!
This truck has less than 70k miles on the odometer. But lately, while I was driving on the highway, I could tell that I was underpowered. I’ve spent a pretty penny on filtration, added some new Michelin LTX AT2's, and replaced the fuel flex lines. I also did the GM-recommended PIP (PIP4526) saying to replace the rubber flex line portions.
Picking power still felt laborious. My 6.6L Duramax was struggling until I read in this forum that it could be the EGR valve. Thanks good people in this forum!
I asked for some recommendations and this EGR delete kit from Daysyore came up. Well folks, this kit tuned up my Silverado better than a baby grand piano!
There was a boost in the gas mileage as well. Maybe it's the Diesel Kleen +cetane in the right ratio and Allison transmission filter, but I swear it has something to do with the EGR delete kit.
