Default Need Help!!

Hey my brother just got a free car 2005 chevy impala 2005 ss, The previous owner says it has a piston slap to it, but when we ran the engine it sounds more of like a engine rod knock to it. Asked the mechanic we normally go to and he believe it is also a rod knock and told us to order a crankshaft kit would fix the problem. I just want other options and see what you guy/girls think it could be video below so you can hear it.

Yes that's what I'm leaning towards, he is only going to charge $200 to tear the engine down ND reinstall everything, just want to know if I need to order more parts then just a crankshaft kit you know.

Be prepared for a no exchange on the crankshaft, I'd bet you'll have to eat the crankshaft core charge.

You can't go wrong with getting the car for free.
