Talking New guy, hope i did this right,

the name is Greg, and i recently purchased a 1997 k1500 z71 offroad. just starting my knowledge on working on vehicles, and i purchased this truck to do just that. go out and beat it and up and hopefully fix it, but im still a novice! im from CT, and hope to learn alot and meet some new people!

Welcome to the forum,I too am new in here.
That is a nice choice You got there with that pickup.There are very few problems with these units that can`t be worked out by the shade tree mechanic personell.
When I got My 93 GMC 1500 it had not been maintained very well by the previous owner,tune up,shocks and a few other issues but after I got worked through those it has been 140,000 miles of just routine maintenance,the pickupo has over 246,000 on it now,so,done right,Your pickup should last You a very long time.
If Your pickup has over a 150,000 miles on it and noithing done to it I would suggest a new timing chain/sprocket set just to be on the safe side.

Truck only has 115k on it, and when i purchased it he had four new shocks in the bed, just havent put them on yet. my favorite style body and im glad i found it. this summer i will be putting some work into it.
